Thadea (Teddy) Corkill visits La Paloma
Thadea (Teddy) Corkill, a Certified Texas Master Naturalist and also Certified in the Art of Wildlife Tracking, visited La Paloma Elementary K-Kids Club students in December to talk about animal tracking in the Rio Grande Valley. The students were exposed to identifying animal tracks, the different animal gaits, along with analyzing different animal specimens. They were able to observe, touch, investigate, and describe different animal skulls and ask questions to determine to which animals the skulls belonged. Ms. Corkill is available to take her presentation to any school upon request. Contact La Paloma Elementary at 361-6780. The sponsors for the K-Kids Club are Noemi Martinez (counselor), Isabel L. Gomez (teacher) and Clarissa Pereira (teacher).
